As a faculty member at Brigham Young University, Tara frequently travels with students locally, nationally, and internationally.

Utah Art Educators Conference (UAEA): Yearly, in Southern Utah
National Art Educators Conference (NAEA): Yearly, rotating through different major cities including San Diego, New Orleans, Chicago, New York, etc.
National Conference for Education of Ceramic Arts (NCECA): Yearly, also rotating through major cities
Field Studies:
Art Making in the West (2013): Camping and art-making through Utah and New Mexico
Native American Pottery Making (2014): Studying with native pottery-makers in New Mexico
Tibetan Buddhism in India (2015): Visiting schools and monasteries, trekking through Northern India
Art in the Himalayas (2016): Trekking in Nepal, Visiting schools and monasteries in Nepal and India.
